Project Knapsack

Founded in 2007 by Porcha Dodson, Project Knapsack, Inc. is an educational organization committed to promoting cultural awareness in American students of issues facing children in developing and third world countries by creating an international pen pal and school supply program. The Rock Foundation sponsors the delivery and shipping costs of all school supply cargo to select countries. This support enables Project Knapsack, Inc. to enhance the current level of primary education in African and Central American countries, provide curriculum including writing, language arts and cultural awareness, reduce current barriers that affect student learning, and empower American school children and their international peers by gaining confidence in their literary skills through the means of a pen pal exchange.
