History

Founded in 2006 by actor Dwayne Johnson, The Rock Foundation is a tax-exempt, public non-profit organization under 501 (c) (3). During its first year, the foundation dedicated most of its efforts to The Rock's Toy Chest, our program that assisted in recovery and created hope in the lives of children hospitalized for various medical conditions. Beginning in 2008, the foundation decided to shift its focus to concentrate on youth physical fitness and childhood obesity prevention along with an educational worldwide giving program.

Our mission is to educate, empower and enrich the lives of children worldwide. The Rock Foundation achieves its mission through its youth physical fitness and obesity prevention program and its educational worldwide giving program. Our staff and board of directors, comprised of experienced philanthropists and entertainment professionals, believe in the potential of children and the importance of a nurturing, positive and supportive environment for them to recover, learn and grow.

We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about ways in which you can help us create hope and make a difference in the lives of children.
